At Robert’s Florist, our foundations are built on family, dedication, and a deep passion for our craft. Every milestone we celebrate today is rooted in the hard work and vision of those who came before us.
Our journey began in 1973 with our beloved first generation, grandparents Arthur and Lily Evans, who planted the seeds of the business with immense love and community spirit. Passing the torch to the second generation, their children Robert and Janet Evans built upon that proud legacy, taking the florist to new heights and establishing the business as a household name across South Wales and beyond.
Today, that same passion burns brightly under the leadership of Sarah-Jane, Arthur and Lily’s granddaughter and 3rd-generation florist. Since 1994, our busy shop has been in its current high-street location near the Brynmawr bus station. Housed in our iconic pink building, a true beacon of floral mastery, our shop attracts customers from miles around who seek exceptional craftsmanship, creative flair, and friendly, reliable service. Sarah-Jane is a floral adventure seeker, her skill and passion for the industry has seen her take flight to the United States, where she assisted at the internationally renowned Philadelphia Flower Show, where the team won a prestigious GOLD medal. She was then granted a scholarship to return to the USA with AIFD. Closer to home, she was a lead designer during the National Flower Show at Hylands House. The future is bright with Sarah-Jane at the helm of Roberts Florist.
In 2026, Robert’s Florist undertook an exciting rebrand, ushering our iconic local shop into a modern and bright future. Moving with the times, we are expanding our vision to solidify our position as one of the most prestigious florists in Wales.
Our rebrand is far more than just a vibrant new look, it marks the launch of our exclusive, bespoke floral collections. Designed to evolve continuously over the coming year, these new collections elevate our brand and ensure we continue to deliver breathtaking, high-end designs for decades to come.

Many of our floral arrangements are now 100% recyclable. Within our specialist funeral collection, we offer a range of eco-friendly, fully compostable farewell tributes. Looking ahead, our aim is to offer a comprehensive, 100% sustainable funeral collection to all our clients by 2030.
We champion local flowers and foliage, choosing British-grown blooms for our gifting options whenever they are available. When sourcing from Dutch growers, we partner exclusively with farms that hold high sustainability ratings, many of which operate as certified carbon-neutral businesses. We continuously seek out growers who share our environmental standards.
We operate with a zero-waste mindset in our Brynmawr shop. Wherever possible, shop waste is recycled responsibly, and we encourage our clients to recycle their packaging at home, keeping unnecessary waste out of landfills.
