Hello, World! We're Roberts Florist

Welcome to our very first blog! We're Roberts Florist, and we've been busy. We've had a brand refresh, a fabulous new website, and a head full of ideas we can't wait to share. So put the kettle on, and let us introduce ourselves properly.

Where it all began

Our story starts in 1973, when our grandparents, Arthur and Lily Evans, planted the seeds of the business with a whole lot of love and community spirit. Then the torch passed to their children, Robert and Janet Evans, who built on that legacy and made Roberts Florist a household name across South Wales and beyond.

Today, we're proudly third generation. Arthur and Lily's granddaughter, Sarah-Jane, leads the team, and we couldn't be prouder of where the family is heading.

Fun facts about us

We're a family business with a few stories to tell:

• We're over 50 years old. That's more than five decades of birthdays, weddings, "sorry" bouquets and "just because" surprises.
• We live in a pink building. Since 1994, you'll have found us on the high street right next to Brynmawr bus station. Our iconic pink shop is our beacon of floral love, and you really can't miss it.
• Gold medal, anyone? 🥇 Sarah-Jane has flown across the Atlantic to help our industry heroes at the world-famous Philadelphia Flower Show, where the team won a GOLD medal. She then earned a scholarship to return to the USA with AIFD.
• We've designed on the national stage. Closer to home, Sarah-Jane was a lead designer at the National Flower Show at Hylands House.
• We're on top of the world. Well, nearly. Brynmawr means "big hill" in Welsh, and the town is often called the highest in Wales. That makes us the highest-flying florist around (we're not biased at all).
• We care about the planet. 🌍 We use recycled paper, tissue and compostable cellophane, choose British-grown blooms whenever we can, and offer eco-friendly, compostable funeral tributes.

A fresh new look

We've had a glow-up! Alongside our brand-new look, we've launched a shiny new website, and it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fancy ordering flowers at midnight? We won't judge. Same-day delivery is available too, so a last-minute "oops, I forgot" moment can still end with a happy face.

Something special is blooming

This is the bit we're really excited about. Over the coming months, we'll be launching our very own signature products across our floral gifting ranges. Think bespoke, unique gifts that you simply won't find anywhere else. We're not giving too much away just yet, but keep your eyes peeled, because there's plenty to come.

Autumn, and a sprinkle of sparkle

We're currently in one of our favourite seasons. Autumn brings rich colours, cosy vibes and gorgeous seasonal blooms, and our team loves working with them. Check out the Autumn range here: Autumn Flowers and Gifts

But we'll be honest: we're already getting giddy about Christmas. It's a season of sparkle, and we absolutely love it. Expect festive flowers, glittering gifts and plenty of Christmas cheer as it gets closer. Once the tinsel's away, we're straight into the new year with Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. We have an exciting range of flowers and gifts planned for both, and we can't wait to share them with you.

Joey: Mr Talent

• Joey has a hidden talent that nobody at work knows about. What is it? We couldn't possibly say! Pop in and see if you can get it out of him. Good luck!

Carmen: Little Miss Speedy

• Blink and you might miss it. Carmen can create the perfect bouquet in minutes 💐, and it always makes it look for effortless. Speedy by name, stunning by nature. She also makes a mean cuppa! 

Tricia: Miss Organised

• Tricia keeps Roberts Florist blooming. Somehow, she always knows what needs doing before anyone else does. We think she might have a crystal ball behind the counter. Tricia is our longest serving team member ⭐

Leah: Miss All-Rounder

• One minute Leah's helping customers in the shop, the next she's hitting the road with a van full of flowers. Whatever the day throws at her, she's ready for it, and she's always smiling.

Sarah-Jane: Miss Pink

• Our florist extraordinaire! Sarah-Jane is always on the hunt for new floral adventures and can put her hand to anything, from a wedding in Wales to an exhibition in the USA. No job is too big or too small. Sarah-Jane is our premier designer for all Funeral Flowers & Tributes.
